Nice shoe but laces are slipperyThis very comfortable shoe rolls lengthwise more easily than most, which makes going up hills a little easier. Nice! On my first hike, a generally easy one, the tread worked well.
The shoe laces are flatter and more slippery than most of my prior Asics shoes, and that seems to make them more difficult to cinch up with the desired pressure on each crossing of the lace. The prior crossing tends to slip a little before I can apply adequate pressure to the next higher crossing. I should have kept the laces from the old Asics that I tossed--the laces remained in good condition after long use.

Not wide enough for meI was disappointed that this shoe was not wide enough around the toe of my foot. I thought it was a great looking shoe but unfortunately it is hard for me to find shoes that are wide enough to be comfortable.

Not wide enoughI've had Asic shoes before marked (4E) extra width, but this style appeared to be miss marked or something because they were really quite narrow. I can't comment on comfort because I couldn't even get them on.
